To me, the most exciting developments in sustainable clothing and accessories are fabrics that repurpose waste from industrial food processing and fabrics with fibers that predate nylon and polyester, some of the greatest sources of microplastics entering our atmosphere, waterways, and bodies. In my closet, you’ll find pieces made of seaweed, banana skins, spent soybean hulls, and even milk. These are some of my favorites.
